2025/26 Concert Season at the Palau de la Música Catalana

FRAMES Percussion, one of the recipients of the 2024 Ernst von Siemens Ensemble Prize, is in its second year of residency at the Palau de la Música Catalana. This two-year residency includes three main projects—GIO + FRAMES, TRANSATLÀNTIC, and Requiem—featuring works by composers from different cultural backgrounds. In GIO + FRAMES, the ensemble collaborates with the Catalan GIO Orquestra to present a program combining the polystylistic language of Alfred Schnittke with the rhythmic energy of Gabriela Ortiz. TRANSATLÀNTIC pays tribute to composers influenced by both Latin America and Europe, featuring works by Mesías Maiguashca, Martin Matalón, Gabriela Ortiz, and a new commission from Oliver Rappoport. Requiem incorporates theatrical and visual elements to reinterpret the traditional Western funeral mass.

Supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, FRAMES Percussion advances the contemporary percussion repertoire through both performances and educational projects.
