Concert Series: The Discoveries
Israel Contemporary Players, Kiryat Ono (IL)
The Israel Contemporary Players is the country’s leading contemporary music ensemble, focused on works from the 20th and 21st centuries. Founded in 1991 by composer Dan Yuhas, the ensemble was established with the support of the Jerusalem Foundation, the Jerusalem Municipality, and the Israel Broadcasting Authority.
Their latest concert series, The Discoveries, will take place in Tel Aviv and showcase several newly commissioned works by Israeli composers. Offered as a subscription series, The Discoveries includes six events, all of which will be professionally recorded and filmed.
Each program will feature a “classical” contemporary work, a new Israeli composition, and a diverse selection of pieces by composers from around the world. In addition, the ensemble will present a parallel series of chamber concerts focusing on experimental and electronic music.
The Discoveries is made possible by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
