IntAct Festival 2025: (Re)animated
Thailand Music and Arts Organization; Bangkok (TH)
The Thailand Music and Arts Organization and the Southeast Asia New Music and Art Foundation present InAct Festival 2025 at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. This year’s theme, (Re)animated, reflects on how past concepts and cultural memory are revived and reinterpreted through contemporary tools and media. The theme explores thought-provoking questions: Is today’s new music truly new, or a reanimation of the past? How do artists engage with archives, analog forms, and the digital present to shape artistic expression?
The week-long program includes eight performances, as well as sound installations, digital exhibitions, panels, and artist showcases. Two open calls will invite participation: one for multimedia and interactive works, and another for the International Composition Institute of Thailand, an educational program for emerging composers.
The festival will also house the world premiere of a cello concerto by Jason Buchanan, performed by the newly-formed Young Thai Contemporary Ensemble and cellist Mariel Roberts.
InAct Festival 2025: (Re)animated is supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
