Mini Musica
Festival Musica, Strasbourg (FR)
Mini Musica is a festival for young audiences and families, offering special musical experiences for the youngest ears. The festival addresses different age groups, from three months to eight years old. The program includes workshops and concerts tailored to each stage of development, encouraging sensory exploration, emotional engagement, and creativity in participating children.
Mini Musica offers age-specific music programs that support children’s cognitive, physical, and social development from infancy onward. Activities for ages 0–3 emphasize multisensory exploration in small, morning sessions with active adult participation, while programs for ages 3–5 encourage autonomy, fine motor skills, and collaboration through multidisciplinary performances and parent-child workshops. From age 5, Mini Recitals introduce children to instruments and diverse musical repertoires through interactive, narrated concerts, and from age 6 workshops promote independent creative exploration and critical thinking. Complementing these activities, Mini Musica also develops tactile sound installations such as the Mini Musicatron and runs school partnerships that integrate artistic education through workshops, listening preparation, and presentations aligned with educational goals.
Scheduled over two weekends in mid-March across several venues in Strasbourg, Mini Musica places the shared parent–child experience at its core. Additional performances are organized during the week to allow school audiences to attend the shows. Mini Musica supports cultural rights by enabling children to express themselves artistically, build confidence, and develop strong cultural identities. Rooted in the Strasbourg and Eurometropole region, Mini Musica collaborates with schools at all levels—from childcare facilities to middle schools—as well as with music schools and local cultural institutions.
Mini Musica is supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
