Peer to Peer: Musicians for Other Musicians
Giorno Poetry Systems, New York (US)
Peer-to-Peer: Musicians for Other Musicians is a five-part event series that invites musicians to share their perspectives on the work of their peers. Through a combination of performances and conversations, each event offers an artist-led glimpse into the dynamics of creative collaboration.
Hosted by Giorno Poetry Systems—an organization founded by artist, poet, musician, and activist John Giorno with a long history of peer-to-peer support—the series reflects a commitment to artist-centered programming and celebrates underrepresented artistic practices.
The series features a variety of events, including artist talks paired with live sets, performances using kinetic sound objects, open recording sessions with guest musicians, and group improvisations. Each event brings together artists who do not typically collaborate. Peer-to-Peer: Musicians for Other Musicians is made possible with support from the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
