Making Sound Futures (WP)
As part of their stay in Germany, Tacet(i) will perform in Cologne, with a special focus on a new work by Marianthi Papalexandri-Alexandri, commissioned specifically by the ensemble. This work challenges traditional composition by inviting performers to construct instruments out of edible and non-edible materials, following the composer’s “sound recipes.” Using perishable materials such as rice paper, ice, wax, and herbs, Tacet(i) creates an ever-evolving soundscape shaped by the unpredictable transformation of these materials over time.
The program also includes works by Piyawat Louilarpprasert, Miles Jefferson Friday, and Ken Ueno.
