Concert season 2024

From January to June 2024, Ensemble 2e2m is organizing a series of concerts with performances in France and Peru, supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. It will present composers from all over the world, including young composers such as Giulia Lorusso, Justé Janulyte, Maël Bailly, Farnaz Modarresifar and Elisabeth Angot, but also established composers such as Dmitri Kourliandski and Gualtiero Dazzi, and even some works from the repertoire of Varèse and Jolivet.

Ensemble 2e2m is one of the first and most renowned ensembles in France dedicated to contemporary music. With several hundred world premieres, it is a major player on the national and international music scene. Since its foundation in 1972 by the composer Paul Méfano, 2e2m has constantly reinvented itself and today occupies a leading position in contemporary music.

In the 2023/24 season, the ensemble invites audiences to a wide range of events and projects that bring them together and allow them to discover the composers of the future. The intersection of aesthetics and artistic influences is at the heart of the program, whether by inviting composers from different countries or by combining music with other art forms. The focus is on the composer Giulia Lorusso, who is a guest at 2e2m with a solo concert, and the composition class of José Manuel López López at the Gennevilliers Conservatory. This city and Champigny-sur-Marne are home to 2e2m and enable a wide audience to discover contemporary music.  

In the run-up to this year’s Olympic Games in France, music and sport will be brought together with a specially commissioned piece for prepared bicycles and instrumental ensemble. 2e2m will also perform a double world premiere by Juan Arroyo: a French premiere with the Orchestre des Pôles Supérieurs and a Peruvian premiere with the Orchestre National as part of the Experimenta festival.
