Another Sky Festival 2024

Another Sky builds on its successful 2023 debut to celebrate experimental music from the Middle East and diaspora, and aims to continue to build and foster professional and creative networks between the Middle East, the UK and Europe.

Taking place over three evenings in September at the Institute of Contemporary Arts and Cafe Oto in London, the festival will also feature networking events for composers, organizers and commissioners from the Middle East, UK and EU. It will feature a variety of composed and improvised music, electronic music and sound art.

The program will focus on six commissioned compositions, one of them by an emerging composer-in-residence, who will be supported in a one-year mentoring program. The other commissioned composers, who will write works for the Distractfold and Explore ensembles, will have the opportunity to develop their works in joint workshops with the performers.
