Commission to Anna Korsun

The association “klangundszene” organizes a chamber music weekend at the Kunsthaus Zurich in September 2024. The Gringolts Quartet and pianist Alexei Volodin have been invited to perform two concerts with works by Alexander Glazunov, Anna Korsun (World Premiere), Nikolai Medtner, Mieczyslaw Weinberg and Dmitri Shostakovich. The first evening will focus on Anna Korsun’s new work for violin and cello, funded by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. The themes of freedom, life in a dictatorship and human dignity, which the association has often dealt with in its concert formats, will also be reflected in recited texts in addition to the selected musical works.
