Commission to Liisa Hirsch, Idin Samimi Mofakham, & Snežana Nešić

Concentrated Voices is a concert platform focused on commissioning and performing new works for classical guitar. This project examines how composers with different musical backgrounds approach the technical and sonic characteristics of the instrument. The program includes both solo works and works that extend the guitar through electronics.

With support from the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation and in collaboration with guitarist Ondrej Veselý, Kysucká Galéria is commissioning three new works for the project by Snežana Nešić, Liisa Hirsch, and Idin Samimi Mofakham. The program will also include a recently completed work by Bernhard Lang and a new work by Klaus Lang, both written for and dedicated to Veselý. In addition, Veselý is independently commissioning a work by Alvin Curran. All six composers are writing for classical guitar for the first time.
