Commission to Przemysław Scheller

In Autumn 2025, Pro New Melody presents a concert tour across Poland, featuring works by Édith Canat de Chizy, Kaija Saariaho, and the world premiere of a newly commissioned piece by composer Przemysław Scheller.

The program will be performed in two concerts, held in Katowice and Jaworno, Poland, by the Archetti Chamber Orchestra. Admission to both events is free.

The repertoire includes Siloël by Canat de Chizy, Terra Memoria by Saariaho, and two works by Scheller: The Little Matchgirl and the new composition specially commissioned for this tour.

Scheller’s new work—scored for a 20-member string orchestra—explores a melodic framework rooted in 21st-century aesthetics. The piece will incorporate advanced contemporary techniques such as topophony, instrumental bundles and rays, microtonality, and asynchronous melodic structures. The commission to Przemysław Scheller is made possible by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
