Commission to Salvatore Sciarrino

Italian composer Salvatore Sciarrino creates Il volo di Icarus for the young ensemble Icarus vs. Muzak. The work for flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, percussion, guitar, piano, violin, and cello premieres in Vilnius at the Gaida Festival on November 3, 2022; further performances are planned for the Zagreb Biennale in 2023, as well as for other Italian and foreign festivals. Marco Angius, who worked closely with Sciarrino and is the author of his biography, will conduct the work. The Icarus vs. Muzak ensemble promotes Italian artists and presents their music in an international context.
