Commissions to Charlotte Seither, Snežana Nešić, Christian Billian

The accordion has gained a firm place in new music in recent decades. However, the contemporary repertoire for this instrument is very demanding, making it unsuitable for children and young people. On the occasion of its 70th anniversary, the German Accordion Teachers’ Association has commissioned works by three composers, financed by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. Charlotte Seither, Snežana Nešić, Christian Billian have worked for half a year with teachers and students of three music schools in Germany. The resulting works will be premiered at a symposium in Frankfurt in November.
