Commissions to Dilay Doğanay, Emre Eröz & Ardu Yurdusev

Hannoversche Gesellschaft für Neue Musik (DE)

The NEUE MUSIK TÜRKEI festival will take place from December 3 to 6, 2026, at the Sprengel Museum Hannover. It presents a contemporary, often underrepresented perspective on Turkish musical culture and spotlights a new generation of Turkish composers whose creative voices offer valuable insights into the situation and perspectives of young Turkish artists.

As part of the festival, three commissioned works for the Hezarfen Ensemble (Istanbul) by Dilay Doğanay, Emre Eröz, and Ardu Yurdusev will receive their world premieres. For its performances, the Hezarfen Ensemble will be joined by three guest musicians from the field of traditional Turkish music and will present both a program of contemporary works by young Turkish composers (including the three world premieres) and a program of traditional Turkish music. The program also features additional concerts, workshops, seminars, and panel discussions centered on the theme of contemporary Turkish music.

The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is making the commissions for Dilay Doğanay, Emre Eröz, and Ardu Yurdusev possible.
