Commissions to Enno Poppe, Iris ter Schiphorst & Annelies Van Parys

The ARD International Music Competition takes place annually in September in Munich in three alternating categories. Since 2001, the already strong presence of contemporary music has been significantly strengthened by awarding commissions to prominent composers. Three commissioned compositions are awarded each year, which are premiered by the candidates in the semi-final.

For the year 2025, Iris ter Schiphorst, Annelies Van Parys and Enno Poppe have each been commissioned with a work. The commissions are made possible by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. Iris ter Schiphorst will write a work for clarinet, Annelies Van Parys for trumpet and Enno Poppe for piano.
