Commissions to Ondřej Adámek & Bettina Skrzypcaz

Musikkollegium Winterthur (CH)

For the 2025/26 concert season, the Musikkollegium Winterthur is awarding two commissions: one to Swiss composer Bettina Skrzypczak and one to Czech composer Ondřej Adámek.

Bettina Skrzypczak is creating a concerto for violoncello and orchestra, which will be performed by Jean-Guihen Queyras, who was Artistic Partner of the Musikkollegium Winterthur for the last three seasons and is now returning to the Stadthaus. Bettina Skrzypczak’s work was commissioned by the Musikkollegium Winterthur especially for this occasion. Bettina Skrzypczak is already familiar with the orchestra, having received a commission from Winterthur in 2015.

Ondřej Adámek, who will conduct the premiere himself, is not afraid to draw on the musical traditions of Japan and Bali to create something new. He is composing a concerto for violin and orchestra for the Musikkollegium Winterthur and Christian Tetzlaff.

The commissions to Bettina Skrzypczak and Ondřej Adámek are supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
