Commissions to Oscar Bianchi & Georg Friedrich Haas

For the 2026/2027 season, the ensemble Loadbang has commissioned Georg Friedrich Haas and Oscar Bianchi to compose two works for its unique instrumentation of trumpet, trombone, bass clarinet, and baritone voice. The project draws on Bianchi’s recent focus on vocal writing and Haas’s ability to create orchestral-scale textures within a quartet format.

Haas’s composition explores spectral possibilities, blending the baritone voice with the instruments to achieve a unified harmonic synthesis. Bianchi’s work emphasizes a highly coordinated interaction between the voice and the ensemble. These projects center on timbre and precise harmony, aligning with Loadbang’s specialized technical capabilities.
