Concert Cycle Kammer-Spiele

Neue Vocalsolisten, Stuttgart (DE)

On the occasion of their 25th anniversary as a chamber ensemble, the Neue Vocalsolisten are celebrating the genre they have significantly shaped with their Kammer-Spiele concert cycle: vocal chamber music theatre. In their five-part cycle at the Theaterhaus Stuttgart, the ensemble is not only looking ahead and creating new repertoire with nine world premieres by international composers. A carefully curated representative programme of compositions, most of which were written especially for the Neue Vocalsolisten and have become reference works of the genre, opens up a lively retrospective of the rich repertoire. The audience is offered the unique opportunity to enjoy the aesthetic diversity of contemporary vocal music and at the same time to recognise its traditional lines and connections. Both retrospective and forward-looking, the cycle makes it possible to directly experience how aesthetics are expanding with advancing globalisation in increasingly complex societies and how artistic motivation is evolving from artificial virtuosity and linguistic finesse to increasingly interdisciplinary networking, medial character and conceptual emphasis on controversial topics.
