Festival Ensemble(s) 2026 – Paris and Berlin
Festival Ensemble(s), Paris (FR)
In 2020, five French contemporary music ensembles—2e2m, Cairn, Court-circuit, Multilatérale, and Sillages—joined forces to establish the Festival Ensemble(s) in Paris. Five years later, it has become a key event of the Parisian rentrée, taking place each year at the Théâtre L’Échangeur.
In 2026, with support from Initiative neue Musik Berlin e.V., Berlin will inaugurate its own edition of Ensemble(s), presented by the German ensembles Zafraan, Mosaik, Manufaktur für aktuelle Musik, and the Kammerensemble Neue Musik. The first Berlin edition is scheduled for September 2026 and will take place in multiple venues in the city.
To highlight the new Paris–Berlin partnership, both festivals will open with a shared concert featuring musicians from France and Germany. For this occasion, two new works will be commissioned: one from French composer Nicolas Mondon and one from Berlin-based Greek composer Irini Amargianaki.
Festival Ensemble(s) is supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
