Festival HELIX
Festival Helix, Buenos Aires (AR)
HELIX is an international contemporary music festival in Buenos Aires, hosted by the Centro Cultural Palacio Libertad under Argentina’s Secretariat of Culture. It brings European composers into collaboration with Latin American performers, presenting new works and world premieres.
Among the invited composers are Ricardo Eizirik, Anda Kryeziu, and Luciano Azzigotti, all active in the European contemporary music landscape. Ricardo Eizirik will present the world premiere of CORPO, a new work developed in close collaboration with local musicians. The project explores spatial perception and collective listening. Anda Kryeziu will collaborate with Argentine artists on a multichannel, ensemble-based project integrating spatialized sound and contemporary compositional practice. Her work will be developed in situ through rehearsals and technical sessions. Luciano Azzigotti will present the premiere of Apomixis, a new work for the Klais Opus 1912 (2015) organ of Palacio Libertad. The piece bridges historical instrumental tradition with digital coding processes.
In addition to the concerts, the festival includes lectures and workshops in collaboration with UNTREF (Universidad Nacional de Tres de Febrero) and other Argentine universities.
