Festival Musica 2026

For its 44th edition, Musica Festival brings together artists, ensembles, and institutions from across Europe and beyond for a program of contemporary music, opera, premieres, and new productions. The program spans a wide range of contemporary practices, from experimental vocal and electronic music to immersive formats.

A central focus of the 2026 edition is Ireland, coinciding with Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union and presented in partnership with Culture Ireland and the Contemporary Music Centre in Dublin. The festival also celebrates composer Georges Aperghis’s 80th birthday with a full day dedicated to his work, bringing together international artists and students from the Musikhochschule Basel.
