Five Commissions

The Bludenzer Tage zeitgemäßer Musik 2022 offer four days of concerts, master classes and encounters between composers, musicians, and audiences. The programme features music from the last 10 years, including 12 world premieres and 5 Austrian premieres.

In the opening concert, new quartets by Eric Wubbels and Carolyn Chen will be premiered by the JACK Quartet, which can be heard for the first time in Bludenz. The Schallfeld Ensemble from Graz returns to Bludenz to interpret new works, including a commission to Isaac Roth Blumefield, which was created at the Quartetto Maurice master class in 2021. New works by Georgia Koumará and Anqi Liu can also be experienced. Liu’s slowly shifting, shimmering soundscapes are accompanied by video projections. The composition commissions to Georgia Koumará, Eric Wubbels, Carolyn Chen, Anqi Liu and Isaac Roth Blumefield are supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
