International Young Composers and Conductors Academy
Ticino (CH)
The International Young Composers and Conductors Academy in Ticino is a summer academy that welcomes twenty composers and ten conductors from around the world. Participants develop and workshop new works through seminars, lectures, presentations, and individual lessons, culminating in performances and premieres by the resident ensemble.
The 2026 edition of the Academy features Ensemble intercontemporain as ensemble in residence. Composition faculty for 2026 include Chaya Czernowin, Steven Kazuo Takasugi, and Oscar Bianchi, with guest lectures by Naomi Pinnock, Jessie Cox, and Helga Arias. Conducting instruction will be led by Pierre Bleuse.
The 2026 edition of the International Young Composers and Conductors Academy is supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
