International Young Composers and Conductors Academy

Ticino (IT)

The 2025 International Young Composers and Conductors Academy in Ticino assembles some of the world’s most promising emerging composers and conductors. Chosen from hundreds of applicants, these talented participants will engage in a rich program of seminars, lectures, lessons, coachings and performances.

The distinguished faculty for 2025 includes composition professors Francesca Verunelli, Andile Kumalo and Academy Director Oscar Bianchi, as well as conducting professor Titus Engel. Participants will also take part in round-table discussions with professionals from the contemporary music field, and five renowned composers will present selected works.

This year’s ensemble-in-residence, the Ensemble Modern, will collaborate directly with the participants, offering their expertise in performance and interpretation.

The Academy’s vision is to build lasting and meaningful relationships between young voices and the leading figures in contemporary music. Through its commitment to inclusion, gender equality, and diversity, the Academy ensures that participants from all backgrounds are given an equal opportunity.

Supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, the 2025 International Young Composers and Conductors Academy in Ticino promises to inspire creativity and collaboration, shaping the future of contemporary music for the next generation of artists.
