Klangspuren Future Lab

Klangspuren Schwaz (AT)

The Klangspuren Future Lab will take place for the first time in 2022 and is made possible by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. It is aimed at highly talented young musicians and composers who aspire to a career as professional musicians. The Klangspuren Future Lab is based on three pillars: Composers Lab, Chamber Music Lab and konsTellation plus.

Composers Lab: With annually changing lecturers (2022: Chaya Czernowin and Johannes Maria Staud) and musical partners, a meeting and learning place for composers will be created for the first time at Klangspuren. This laboratory will be comprehensively integrated into the festival through public master classes and concerts.

Chamber Music Lab: Three young international string quartets will be nominated by an expert commission and the annually changing lecturers and invited to Tyrol. In Innsbruck they will work both individually and in groups and rehearse a contemporary work.

konsTellation plus is an offer to pupils of the Tiroler Musikschulwerk and the BORG/Musikgymnasium Innsbruck as well as students of the Tyrolean State Conservatory. The young musicians are given the opportunity for intensive further training for a sustainable increase in experience. In addition to the demand for the highest artistic level, the creation of musical value for young musicians from the Tyrolean region is at the centre of the considerations. For ten years now, the string ensemble konsTellation under the direction of Ivana Pristašovà has been inspiring young musicians in Innsbruck for contemporary music. For konsTellation plus, the ensemble will be expanded to include wind and percussion players. Every year, Klangspuren invites internationally esteemed musicians to prepare and perform a concert with the ensemble. In 2022, Gregor Mayrhofer was engaged as conductor and percussionist Vivi Vassilieva as soloist. The teachers prepare their students for the master class during the summer semester. In this way, a profound examination of contemporary literature and modern playing techniques will be made possible.
