MINU_festival_for_expanded_music 2024

Kopenhagen (DK)

MINU_festival_for_expanded_music 2024 presents art at the borders of new music and other media. It will take place for the fourth consecutive year in Copenhagen in 2024 and has become an important annual festival for new compositional music. MINU presents some of the most talented and exciting young composers and artists in Denmark, the Nordic countries and internationally.

With a curatorial focus on the total experience, the festival aims to explore an expanded and interdisciplinary definition of music that also considers the “non-musical” as musical. Within this framework, artists who dare to go their own way and explore groundbreaking approaches in music will be presented. A special focus is placed on young people as audience and participants. The MINU.LAB initiative facilitates networking and knowledge exchange.

The programme includes world premieres by exciting Danish and international composers and artists: Alexander Schubert, Niels Lyhne Løkkegaard, Laura Bowler and others. Participating musicians and ensembles include some of the leading Danish and international musicians as well as exciting new names. Brand new works by Jacob Ridderberg, Kaj Duncan David and other young composers will also be presented.

The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation supports the MINU Festival 2024.
