Porte Parole

In their concerts titled Porte Parole, the lovemusic collective explores the power of the spoken word from different angles in several commissioned compositions: the direct and visceral poetry of Simon Howard in Philip Venables’ works, sign language in Helmut Oehring’s new piece, nonverbal soundscapes in Erin Gee’s work, the recorded voice in Joanna Bailies’ composition, and the idea of call and response in Michelle Agnes’ new work. The Porte Parole concerts at the Klangwerkstatt Berlin Festival and the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival are made possible by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
