Spatial Sound Concerts
Sonic Acts, Amsterdam (NL)
In February 2026, Sonic Acts and INA GRM present a program of new spatial sound compositions alongside rare historical works, performed on INA GRM’s Acousmonium at Paradiso, Amsterdam. This event is part of the Sonic Acts Biennial 2026, a two-month program of concerts, exhibitions, audiovisual performances, film screenings, workshops, a symposium, and public events.
Featuring international composers and performers, the program presents contemporary approaches to spatial sound composition—from electroacoustic works with cello, clarinet, and organ, to field recordings, modular synths, and digitally generated sound structures. These new works are paired with historical pieces by Éliane Radigue, Roland Kayn, Beatriz Ferreyra, and Jaap Vink. The Acousmonium, with over eighty loudspeakers of varying sizes and timbres, will be installed throughout Paradiso’s main hall, creating a spatial sound architecture tailored to the venue’s acoustics. Originally a church, Paradiso provides a unique setting where the design of the performance amplifies the character of both the music and the space.
This performance is made possible by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
