SPOR Festival 2025
Aarhus (DK)
SPOR Festival is the leading celebration of contemporary music and sound art in the Nordic region, held every year in Aarhus, Denmark, since 2005. In 2025, the festival will mark its 20th anniversary, continuing to showcase exciting and innovative works from both well-known and emerging artists. Supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, SPOR Festival 2025 features a mix of concerts, performances, sound installations, and collaborations, bringing together musicians, composers, dancers, and visual artists to create unique and thought-provoking experiences for all.
The 2025 edition will reflect on the past 20 years of SPOR while also looking ahead to the future of contemporary music. The program will highlight important themes such as diversity, inclusion, and experimental art, with a special focus on underrepresented voices and new trends. The anniversary celebrations will feature world premieres and Danish debuts, along with performances by influential composers such as Joanna Bailie, Simon Løffler, and Lina Lapelyte.
SPOR is also dedicated to supporting young talent through its ‘SPOR New Music School’, which has been inspiring children and young people to create their own music for the past 10 years. The 2025 festival will include a special concert and publication celebrating the school’s achievements. With its mix of past highlights and fresh new works, SPOR remains an exciting platform for discovery and collaboration in the world of contemporary music.
