SPOR Festival 2026
SPOR Festival, Aarhus (DK)
The SPOR Festival returns in 2026 with the aim of bringing together established and emerging artists whose work is often underrepresented. SPOR is conceived not only as a festival to attend, but as one that invites participation from a wide range of communities.
Diversity is reflected throughout the programme, including in the choice of venues, which range from concert halls and museums to theatres, parks, and a public library. The festival presents both Danish and international artists and places particular emphasis on engaging young people in experimentation with new music, sound art, and related practices. Around 20 large- and medium-scale productions will be presented, featuring works by composers such as Simon Steen-Andersen, Anna Thorvaldsdottir, Lina Lapelytė, Ragnhild May, Shiva Feshareki, Ryoji Ikeda, Stefan Maier, and Michael Hope. Performances will be given by ensembles including Yarn/Wire, Defunensemble, the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra, and the Scenatet Ensemble.
The 2026 edition of the SPOR Festival is supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
