Time of Music 2026

The 2026 Time of Music festival is built around the theme Once Upon a Time…. The title refers to the common beginning of many stories: while they may start from the same point, they can develop in entirely different directions. The festival brings together composers from different generations whose works engage with narrative and storytelling, a common thread running throughout the programme.

The festival includes performances by Fabrik Quartet, Trio Abstrakt, Heather Roche, and Erik Borgir, combining premieres, recent works, and established repertoire. Featured composers include Liza Lim, Milica Djordjević, Michael Finnissy, Sebastian Hilli, Isabel Mundry, and Kimmo Hakola. Alongside the concert programme, educational activities provide opportunities to discuss the artistic references, themes, and compositional approaches presented in the festival.
