TO LISTEN TO 2025

Conservatorio Statale di Musica "G. Verdi" di Torino (IT)

TO LISTEN TO 2025 delves into contemporary sound through experimental listening practices, offering a fusion of electroacoustic music, live performance, and multimedia installations. Highlights include Marco Luparia’s BENBEN, a performance that explores the effects of paramnesia, and the live re-scoring of silent films such as College (1927) and The Freshman (1925), featuring original compositions by Giovanni Mancuso and performed by the French quartet Caravaggio.

The festival also presents the INA-GRM team’s Acousmonium, a 50-speaker orchestra premiering twelve acousmatic works in Italy, and Mauricio Kagel’s Spielplan, an experimental instrumental theater piece. A tribute to Edgard Varèse will be showcased with a virtual reality rendition of Poème électronique. Interactive installations, such as Fubalino!, a table football game, and Suoni dallo scontro, an exploration of political sound events, further expand the audience’s engagement with sound.

TO LISTEN TO 2025 is supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
