Daniel Barenboim
Daniel Barenboim is a conductor and pianist celebrated for his artistic mastery across the full repertoire of classical music. As a universal musician, he is an enthusiastic advocate for contemporary music, making pivotal contributions to the musical world of our time and consistently offering fresh perspectives on works from the past three centuries.
In 1999, his commitment to peace in the Middle East led to the founding of the “West-Eastern Divan Project” alongside the late Palestinian intellectual Edward Said. Through this project, Barenboim brings together young musicians from Israel and Arab countries, fostering dialogue and understanding through the shared language of music.
