Happy Birthday, Tabea Zimmermann!

In 2020, Tabea Zimmermann was awarded the Ernst von Siemens Music Prize, and since 2023 she has served as chairwoman of the Foundation Board of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. On the occasion of receiving the music prize, she said: “I very much hope that I am more of a musician than a violist. The instrument you choose is really just an ‘instrument.’ It isn’t the music itself. What would I be today without the viola? I can’t answer that question. The viola is my companion through life, but it is not the meaning of my life.”
