On 24 Oktober, the next part of the workshop series “Community in Practice” will take place.”
1.10.2024
The Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is committed to the topic of “sustainability in cultural work” and would like to deal with this topic as responsibly as possible. For this reason, we have initiated a series of workshops on sustainability perspectives in contemporary music together with other funding organisations. The next workshop on 24 October 2024 from 16:00-17:30 will focus on Sustainable event and festival organisation.
This workshop offers recommendations and practical tips for the environmentally friendly preparation and realisation of events and festivals. Whether festivals lasting several days, individual concerts or series – all these events are associated with high energy consumption (for lighting, sound, heating or cooling), the accommodation of participants or (instrument) transport as well as the procurement and disposal of materials (stage design and costumes). For all of these areas, specific measures are presented on how to actively protect the environment. Richard Philips from Julie’s Bycicle will provide the expert input.
The good practice example will be given by the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele. In the last third of the workshop, all participants are invited to discuss their own questions and experiences with the input providers.
