Herbert J. Scheidt

Herbert J. Scheidt was born in 1951 and holds Swiss and German citizenship. He trained as a merchant and holds an M.A. in Economics from the University of Sussex and an M.B.A. from the University of New York. Herbert J. Scheidt has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vontobel Group since May 2011. He was its CEO from 2002 to 2011. In the two preceding decades, he held various management positions internationally for Deutsche Bank and was also Head of Private Banking International, based in Geneva, from 1996 to 2002. Scheidt is a member of numerous executive boards and boards of directors of international companies. He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the German Council on Foreign Relations, the Board of the Zurich Chamber of Commerce and the German-Swiss Chamber of Commerce.
