Thomas Angyan

Thomas Angyan, who holds a doctorate in law, was the managing director of the Musical Youth of Austria for many years until he was appointed Secretary General of the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna in 1988. In 2005 he was appointed its artistic director. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation is, among other things, a founding and board member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and a member of the Alexander Zemlinsky Fund, the Egon Wellesz Fund, and the Gottfried von Einem Foundation at the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna. He received the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art 1st Class and the Golden Decoration of Honour for Services to the State of Vienna.
