Tobias Rempe
Tobias Rempe grew up in Nuremberg, where he began playing music at the age of seven. While studying violin, he co-founded the Ensemble Resonanz, of which he was a long-standing member. In 2008, he retired from professional violin playing and took over the artistic management and administration of Ensemble Resonanz gGmbH.
Under his leadership, the ensemble positioned itself as a programmatically distinguished top chamber orchestra and an internationally renowned model project for new formats and forms of cooperation. Among other things, he developed the concert series ‘urban string’ with the musicians and the management team, the move to the resonanzraum St. Pauli, completed in 2014, and the role of the musicians as the resident ensemble of the Elbphilharmonie after its opening in 2017. From 2019 to 2024, Tobias Rempe was first chairman of FREO (Freie Ensemble und Orchester in Deutschland e.V.).
Since summer 2025, Tobias Rempe has been artistic director at the Konzerthaus Berlin.
