Commissions to Quentin Lauvray, Philippe Leroux, Tristan Murail and Ariadna Alsina Tarrés
L’Itinéraire, Paris (FR)
l’Itinéraire is excited to launch the project Sounds of the Future, a series of commissions for composers aimed at young performers.
These new works will be created by renowned composers and performed by l’Itinéraire’s ensemble musicians alongside young. Sharing their musical expertise with younger generations is at the core of l’Itinéraire’s mission. This project offers young musicians a chance to experience the creation of new music while ensuring the incorporation of these works into the concert repertoire.
The performances will take place in collaboration with the Conservatoire de Paris (CRR de Paris), the Conservatoire de Boulogne-Billancourt (CRRBB), and the Conservatoire Municipal du 14ème arrondissement in Paris.
The commissioned composers include Tristan Murail, Ariadna Alsina Tarrés, Philippe Leroux and Quentin Lauvray. Tristan Murail, founder of l’Itinéraire, will compose a set of 5 or 6 pieces for cello with an optional piano part. Ariadna Alsina Tarres, a composer known for her use of electronics, will create a new work for flute ensemble, percussion, and electronics. Philippe Leroux and Quentin Lauvray will work together on a new piece for accordion and a small string ensemble.
Made possible by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, Sounds of the Future reflects l’Itinéraire’s ongoing dedication to supporting young musicians and expanding the contemporary music repertoire.
