Tzlil Meudcan 2025

Tzlil Meudcan International Festival and Research Platform for Contemporary Music, Tel Aviv (IL)

Tzlil Meudcan, which translates to “updated tone” in Hebrew, is Israel’s premier and longest-running contemporary music festival. For 17 years, it has been held annually in Tel Aviv, bringing together world-class composers, performers, and ensembles alongside emerging talent from both Israel and abroad. Each year, the festival offers a unique blend of iconic works and innovative new compositions, providing its audience with an unparalleled experience in contemporary music.

The theme of the 2025 festival, The Future in Three Parts, will spotlight the talent of emerging ensembles and soloists. As the festival places a strong emphasis on youth, it embodies a sense of optimism for the future amidst global challenges of violence and political instability. This year’s featured artists and ensembles include the Fabrik Quartet, Schalfeld Ensemble, Ensemble Riot, Ensemble Zone Experimental, pianist Dimitry Batalov, guitarist Giuseppe Menutti, The Jerusalem Music Academy Ensemble, and sound artist Hagai Izenberg.

Tzlil Meudcan is expanding its offerings to include research opportunities, providing students and young musicologists with the chance to engage with internationally renowned scholars. Participants will present research, exchange ideas, and develop new projects, all while remaining closely involved with the festival’s performances.

With support from the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation, Tzlil Meudcan’s 2025 festival will continue to enhance Israel’s educational and cultural music landscape.
