Out Now: (it looks like someone lived there) by Noami Pinnock

24.4.2026

(it looks like someone lived there) with works by Noami Pinnock has been released by Prospero Classical. The release brings together four iconic recent works, performed by outstanding musicians and ensembles. Soprano Juliet Fraser, Montreal’s Quatuor Bozzini, London’s Riot Ensemble, and the Exaudi Vocal Ensemble contribute original recordings, while a live performance with the WDR Sinfonieorchester Cologne completes the set.

All four works depict Pinnock’s distinctive approach to sound and musical structure In her essay on Pinnock musicologist Leonie Reineke writes: “The music reveals her steady hand and a contemplative mind that places every touch of colour, every contour, and every shade onto the page only after careful consideration. Like a calligrapher, she approaches everything she brings into sound with precision, calm, and presence—even in moments of the greatest fragility or restraint.“ The recordings emphasize this aspect of her work with an intimate sound aesthetic that is singular to the contemporary music field.

(it looks like someone lived there) is the first in a series of collaborations between Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation and Prospero Classical. Upcoming releases includes works by composer prize winners Mirela Ivičević and Mikel Urquiza.
