Sesin Yolculuğu Festival für junge Komponist*innen
Generaldirektion für Bildende Künste, Republik Türkei Ministerium für Kultur und Tourismus, Ankara (TR)
Sesin Yolculuğu (Journey of Sound) is a three-day contemporary music festival intending to showcase emerging student composers from Turkish universities and conservatories. Designed as both an artistic and educational initiative, the festival offers young composers studying in Turkey and abroad the opportunity to have their works professionally performed, gain valuable compositional experience and increase their visibility within the international contemporary music scene. In addition to concerts, the festival features a programme of panels and workshops, fostering interaction between young composers and guest artists from Turkey and around the world.
Sesin Yolculuğu began in 2004 as a single concert event and has since evolved into an annual festival. It has featured composers and performers from over 15 academic institutions across six cities, becoming a cornerstone for the next generation of Turkish contemporary music. Within its mission to introduce young Turkish composers to the global stage, the festival provides opportunities such as professional recordings, public performances and engagement with some of the leading figures in contemporary music. Sesin Yolculuğu is supported by the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.
